Spa Tradition in Murcia
Home Spa

The Spa tradition in the Region of Murcia goes back to Roman times, when they discovered the healing properties of the thermal waters in Archena and Fortuna, to the North of the city of Murcia. These crystal clear waters naturally spring from underground at 52ēC, rich in sulphur, chlorine, sodium and calcium.

Seawater is another natural source of wellness and with 176 kilometres of Mediterranean coast, and Europe's largest saltwater lagoon, the Mar Menor, the area naturally lends itself to thalassotherapy. The large number of hours of sunshine and the high salinity of the waters of the Mar Menor have meant that significant deposits of therapeutic mud have built up over the centuries. In San Pedro del Pinatar, half an hour north of La Manga Club, you can access outdoor mud baths, as famous in Spain as Dead Sea mud in the Middle East! These curative muds are ideal for treating many ailments such as rheumatism, skin, joint and bone problems.
